Want to Meet Sunil Gavaskar?

Want to Meet Sunil Gavaskar?

Itโ€™s not every day you get a chance to meet your childhood hero. So, when you can, you jump at the chance. You donโ€™t want to sit in your rocking chair aged 90 with the regret of knowing you had the chance of meeting someone special but decided to watch TV instead.

And Sunil Gavaskar is a legend. Now, you may ask who he is if you are not into cricket. But even if you are not, there are some real reasons why you want to meet him, and that is because he is coming to Australia. To Brisbane, in fact.

So, if you happen to be free on 13 December 2024 you might want to buy some tickets and listen to a keynote speaker who held and still holds some serious records. You also get a chance to eat and mingle with some influential people.

In test cricket, he was the first player to score over 10,000 runs. He also held the record for the most Test centuries (34). He still holds the record holder for most runs and centuries by an opening batsman with a batting average of over 50.

And WOW! Advisors is sponsoring his Keynote Event and raising funds to help patients with cancer via Simply Human. If you attend, you learn and grow as a human being and get to help those with cancer. Why would you not want to do it?

If you want to know why I think his talk will be awesome for your business, read on.

You see, I have always believed that sport has so much to teach the business world. Sunil Gavaskar was part of the Indian World Cup team in 1983. This was a team that outperformed all expectations, and a bunch of players who could not win games against minor counties were beating the mighty West Indies within a month.

How did they do that? How do you take 15 dysfunctional people and convert them into believers and winners within a month? I am hoping he will answer that if I get to ask him a question.

A truly successful sports team needs talent, team spirit, belief, and confidence. And they need leadership to work out a strategy. Not one player wins a game or tournament; the work of an entire team wins a game or a tournament. This sounds very much like how successful businesses operate.

However, I am sure that, as part of his keynote, he will touch on many subjects that will inspire business owners, so I cannot recommend this enough.

I hope to see you there.
